National HIE & Digital Care Platform — DC4H
The challenge
Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance programme required a single, unified digital health infrastructure connecting 321 facilities across 6 governorates — integrating disparate hospitals, clinics, labs, and pharmacies into a coherent care record for every enrolled citizen. Without a robust integration layer, patient data would remain siloed and the programme’s clinical and financial objectives could not be met.
What we did
adeahub deployed AH Connect as the DC4H (Digital Care for Health) integration backbone — delivering a full Health Information Exchange (HIE), FHIR server, API connector layer, Integrated Care Record, and BI Analytics workbench. Working alongside Vodafone Egypt under a landmark national contract, the platform connected every facility into a single, queryable patient record — regardless of the underlying system at each site.

Centralised FHIR R4 repository holding the integrated care record for all enrolled patients, queryable across all connected facilities
Bidirectional data flows between 321 facilities using multiple protocols — normalising disparate data into a unified clinical record
Population-level KPI dashboards and geo-spatial analytics enabling programme management and public health monitoring across all governorates
“Adeahub helped support the digital infrastructure for our national health insurance programme, connecting facilities across governorates through a health information exchange and integrated care record. This gave our teams stronger visibility across care delivery and programme performance.”

— The vision
Healthcare networks are built on dozens of disparate systems — each one designed without knowledge of the others. The result is fragmented patient data, duplicated records, and clinicians making decisions without the full picture.
AH Connect changes that. It sits at the centre of your health network as a universal data layer — translating, normalising, and routing clinical data between any system, in any format, across any geography.
Whether you’re connecting two departments in a single hospital or integrating hundreds of facilities into a national Health Information Exchange, AH Connect provides the same robust, standards-based integration architecture.
Connect any system — HL7, FHIR, REST, database, file-based — without custom development.
— What it covers
AH Connect provides every component needed to connect, normalise, and govern health data across your entire network.
A fully compliant FHIR R4 repository — the single source of truth for your population's health records. Queryable by any authorised system or application, in real time.
Bidirectional data routing between any combination of systems using 40+ connector protocols — HL7, FHIR, REST, JDBC, Cassandra, MongoDB, FTP/SFTP, JMS, and TCP/IP. Handles CSV, XML, JSON, EDI, and binary formats natively.
Intelligent patient matching across all connected systems — resolving duplicate identities and ensuring every record links to a single, verified patient identity across your network.
A secure, managed API layer exposing your health data to authorised third-party applications, patient apps, and government systems — with full access control, rate limiting, and audit logging.
Pre-built KPI dashboards and geo-spatial visualisation tools drawing from the integrated data lake — enabling operational and population health reporting across your entire network from day one.
A longitudinal, patient-centric view of every clinical event across all connected facilities — giving clinicians a complete picture regardless of where the patient was seen or which system documented the encounter.

— Who it’s for
AH Connect delivers clear, distinct value to clinical, technology, and operational leaders across your organisation.
CMO · CMIO · Clinical Director
Your clinicians see the complete patient record — regardless of which system captured the data or which facility provided the care. AH Connect eliminates the gaps between systems that lead to repeated tests, delayed diagnoses, and avoidable medication errors.
CIO · CTO · VP Applications
AH Connect connects your existing systems without replacing them. Its support for 40+ connector protocols — including JDBC, Cassandra, MongoDB, FTP/SFTP, HL7, and REST — means you integrate at the data layer, not through costly system replacement. Standards-based from the ground up: FHIR R4, HL7 v2/v3, and open APIs.
CFO · VP Operations · Government CIO
A unified patient record reduces duplicate testing, improves care coordination, and gives programme managers real-time visibility across every facility in the network. The Analytics Workbench turns connected data into actionable intelligence for operational and public health decision-making.
— Breadth of deployment
AH Connect has been deployed at every scale of health system complexity — from enterprise hospital groups through to national programme infrastructure.
Universal Health Insurance
DC4H national HIE connecting 321 facilities across 6 governorates — FHIR server, integration engine, EMPI, API gateway, integrated care record, and BI analytics all deployed as a single coherent platform.
Ministry of Health
Integration backbone connecting the national patient health platform (MySejahtera) to the full network of 8,000+ public health facilities — enabling real-time appointment booking, health records access, and care navigation at national scale.
Enterprise integrations
AH Connect deployed within multi-site hospital groups to unify HIS, LIS, PACS, pharmacy, and billing systems — eliminating information silos and enabling group-wide patient record access for clinical staff.
API gateway deployments
AH Connect’s API gateway enables health systems to safely expose clinical data to authorised patient apps, telehealth providers, and government registries — with full access control and comprehensive audit trails.
